Whole 30 Day 1 (autoimmune version)

I am challenging myself to do Whole 30 for a little bit. Even with the walking and the eating pretty well, I am having a hard time losing any weight and I am having some serious issues with acne. I probably need to go to an endocrinologist, but to be honest, I am a procrastinator. So, for now, I am just going to eat "clean" low-glycemic paleo foods for the next thirty days and see what happens. If I get some positive response, then I can go to the doctor armed with my experiences. My LS is also flaring badly, so I am going to try harder to stick with the autoimmune version of the Paleo diet. No dairy, no grains, no legumes, no tomatoes, no potatoes, no peppers, no eggplant, no nuts, no eggs, and no alcohol. That is a lot of "no" and not very much "yum".

The hardest part for me is going to be the "no alcohol." I like my wine time--but lately, it seems like when I have a glass or two of wine that my LS gets worse--this could be a total coincidence, but it is worth looking at I guess.

Breakfast today:

Sliced turkey breast, strawberries, cucumber slices, coffee with coconut milk.

  2. Very best of luck with that, Sara. Good move to get the experience before going to the doctor. I'm with you on the procrastinating - I'm the same.

  3. Thanks Mel!! I LOVE your recipes--that Pad Thai you made a couple of weeks ago for example looks awesome...

Judith--Glad to know I'm not the only one! Makes me feel better :)

  4. I just finished 30 days of AI and am planning on continuing. I have chronic fatigue syndrome and unfortunately gave up alcohol and sugar a long time ago. I started feeling better when I just went paleo, but I wanted to see if I could get rid of my body aches and joint pain by going AI.

Good luck! I know it's hard to get creative. I really am starting to miss certain spices and definitely tomatoes!

I'm writing about my experiences on a new blog-- www.culinarycavegirl.blogspot.com
