Nothing would be more tiresome than eating and drinking if God had not made them a pleasure as well as a necessity. ~Voltaire

Update
OK, so the last few weeks have been difficult. I could not bring myself to eat crap meat, so I am still buying grassfed beef and organic free-range chicken, but only omega three eggs...I also have had a very hard time with the acne...it is getting worse, not better so far. I have also been sick this last week with the flu, which means I haven't been updating much lately, sorry. I have an post in mind regarding some of the changes I am making in my life in general and how this is affecting me. Meanwhile, continuing with the Paleo plan and hope to write again soon!

Hi Sara. I'm sorry about your acne. I don't know what causes it or makes it worse. Possibly you are under some stress right now? Certainly having the flu cannot help. I hope you are feeling better very soon.

Hi Sara. I am interested that you can't bring yourself to eat the grain-fed beef, good on you. Real food is much better for you in the long haul, not to mention the ethical considerations. I really do feel that good food is worth paying extra for, even though it means you have to buy less and be more inventive.
ReplyDeleteAnd like Bearfriend, I wonder if stress is affecting your skin. You haven't been having an easy time lately and having the flu drags you down. It doesn't seem fair to be afflicted by acne once you're grown up, does it!
Best wishes and I hope things get better soon.
Hi Sara,
ReplyDeleteI'm brand new to your blog, got it from Nourishing Days. I just wanted to share something with you regarding the acne and weight issues. Acne is a pretty clear indicator that things are not well in your gut. You are not digesting well nor naturally detoxing I would guess.
Do you take good probiotics or digestive enzymes? The good flora in your gut is of major importance. If that is messed up then many other things will be messed up in time.
Have you ever tried drinking kombucha? It is a fermented tea that you can brew yourself.
I really like the products at Wellness Resources for both my probiotics as well as the digestive enzymes.
I don't want to go on about these things if you really are not interested so I will stop now but please email me if you would like to talk further.
Best wishes,
Dawn
Hi Dawn and welcome to Edible!
ReplyDeleteI do drink Kombucha, although not as often as I used to. Perhaps I will start drinking it more frequently and see what happens. I do need a good probiotic--that's on my shopping list. Thanks!
