Shannon, over at Nourishing Days has invited her "real food" readers to share menus, and today I am the featured menu!
Some of the previous posts on Shannon's blog have been several days of menus, but I just picked what I was eating that day and shared it.
Lately, I have been skipping breakfast, and having a snack at lunch and then another snack in the afternoon followed by dinner around 7pm. So, "breakfast" and "lunch" may be nuts and fruit, or a couple of ounces of leftover chicken with two or three organic baby carrots, and an organic apple (Trader Joe's has bags of very small organic apples). Then dinner might be Zucchini Spaghetti With Meatballs, Taco Salad, or some other Paleo meal. I eat after I walk every night, so by then I am hungry.
Some days I wake up hungry and will have eggs with veggies and maybe even bacon if I feel like it. The only dairy I eat is the cream in my one cup of coffee each morning. (I found I couldn't completely give that up even for my perfect Paleo experiment--I tried, but after three weeks, I added the cream back in...) I drink a glass of wine a few times a week.
I have decided that I really need to continue to update this each day, not just when things are going well or badly...I hope that it will continue to serve as a marker for my progression. I am feeling good eating this way. Life is good. Food is good. In a year or two when I want to look back on what I did that worked, I will really need a better record than this is so far. So, I will be adding menus each day and an activity log. Tomorrow will be my first day. (Or tonight if I have time after dinner...)
Good move! Please do post your menus, I love reading what people eat. I have no idea about whether what i eat is too much, or normal, or whatever - so I really like to read food logs. Plus, it's interesting, especially when it's from another country.
