Mid-morning snack: Pecans and mint tea
Lunch: Leftover taco salad meat with romaine lettuce
Afternoon snack: Coffee with one slice of chocolate orange and a sliver of blackberry pie. (Birthday party at work)
Dinner: Roasted chicken thighs, sweet potato and steamed broccoli.
We had a birthday party at work today, need I say more?
Have I told you that one of my children is on the Paleo diet for health reasons? He has learned to cook and fend for himself. I bet though he misses his mother's (me) meatballs and spaghetti suppers.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you miss?
Have you always been on this diet?
Hi Rosaria--
ReplyDeleteI have been on a Paleo or Primal diet (off and on) since about 2004. I started it for health reasons as well since I have what is believed to be an autoimmune disease. I miss good bread. I miss cheese. And because I am now doing a much stricter Paleo autoimmune version, I especially miss tomatoes, dairy, and wine. (Not that I have been very good about not eating them--this is the hardest part for me.) I can live without pasta, I can substitute the wheat noodles with zucchini noodles, but no more zucchini linguini in white sauce, or zucchini spaghetti in red sauce...I miss toasted pannatoni with butter and a good cup of coffee with cream.
Sara, did you eat that sweet potato just as it was, or did you put some butter or cream cheese with it? I wouldn't have been able to get it down without some fat to lubricate it!
ReplyDeleteHi Judith--I ate it sort of mashed and drizzled with the pan juices from the chicken--it was delicious!
