Crap!
I just noticed that I forgot to let you guys know I was gone...I have been on vacation since last Friday evening.
I had a last minute post to do last Friday morning, and I just didn't post it. Sorry--it was kind of crazy around here on Friday--I had to pack and grab the bus to work, then after work grab two more buses to the train station. We finally pulled into Portland around 9pm. While I was unfortunately camera-less, I can still update you on what I ate in Portland--with links to all the restaurants.
It was a nice long weekend. I decided that I need to add more carbs to my experiment this weekend, so I upped my total per day to about 30 grams, and I lowered my protein substantially. My protein is down around 120 grams, my carbs are at 30, and that leaves about 200 grams of fat. I am still using dairy (pastured, of course) but I am also going to start adding in other sources of fat over the course of the next week or so.
I walked a lot while I was in Portland--about 5 miles each day--but one day well over that probably around 8 miles. I also visited Portland's Paleo food cart, and bought some paleo treats for my hubby, and his roommates. I couldn't eat them, too many carbs for me, but I hear they were delicious!
Friday I had breakfast at home, and packed roast chicken for lunch. Later I had a caesar salad on the train, then a grilled hamburger with no bun, served with pickles, onion, and tomatoes, a side salad, and a glass of red wine at McPeet's Portland Pub. Dive bar ambience, excellent burger!
