No more menus

I am finding it really hard to plan out menus each week, primarily because it takes so long, so what is happening is we are falling back on lots of simple grilled meat with salad or a vegetable or both. I have pork chops, chicken breasts, whole chickens, london broil and hamburger in the freezer, so need to shop less for meat lately--the Costco experiment seems to be paying off in that I am definitely spending less money each month...

This week our vegetable is asparagus which I tend to pan roast, or stirfry with mushrooms--this makes an excellent veggie to go with any grilled meat. I have been focusing on lower carbohydrate meals the last week or so with some success--I lost 5 pounds last week! (I know, too fast, but still...)

I was trying to mention what I eat each day, but honestly, that is so boring...I haven't come up with any really "new" recipes lately I am just eating the old favorites--taco salad, perfect roast chicken, thyme pork chops, steak, etc...

I am expecting Mark's primal Cookbook in the mail any day now, so perhaps I will find something new and yummy in there that I can share with you...in the meatime I will try not to bore you to death with my daily grind.

  1. Hi Sara. Due to the heat I am keeping things very simple and eating salad at least twice a day. It's so easy to just put a load of salad leaves on a plate, then shredded raw veg on top and/or pre-cooked veg and add some fish or chicken. My eating has improved dramatically in the hot weather!

I am doing it ad hoc as well at the moment. Just making sure I have plenty of veg/ salad/ protein in the fridge. I hope to get into a more planned routine in the future.

Congrats on 5lbs lost! IMO any pace of weight loss is fine!
