Day 3: $6.89 and counting...

So far all is going well. I have managed to not go over budget very much, and if you average out the free meal Wednesday with the meals I had yesterday, I might be OK.

I am looking forward to visiting the farmer's market again tomorrow and getting more veggies, but not too many because even though today is Friday, I still have vegetables left from last week. I am running low on fruit though...

Today is the grass fed beef sale at Whole Foods--$3.99!! We may be having hamburger soon!


I have lost two pounds since Wednesday, not really sure why since I am not doing anything drastically different than I was before, but hey, I'm not looking the gift horse in the mouth here, I'm just pleased for whatever reason the gods of the scale have chosen to smile on me.

Menu for today:

6am Coffee with organic half and half .82
11am one hardboiled free range omega3 eggs (.34) and four fresh plums (.50)
7:30pm Grilled pork chop (.94), steamed broccoli with butter (.40), sliced avocado (1.19), Fresh sliced tomatoes ($1.00).

  1. Good on you, Sara. But make sure you eat enough! Just one egg? Make sure you put lots of butter on that broccoli!

  2. Don't worry Judith--I put a lot of butter on my broccoli, and olive oil on my avocado as well. Plenty of calories!
