I have been really good! I will post pictures of some of my meals later today so you can see what I have been eating.
OK back to the subject of Dogma...I think that Richard's post (the one I linked to earlier this week) makes a very good point. It is so easy to slip into the dogmatic approach when following any kind of "restrictive" lifestyle. I think that in general we tend to want to simplify things to the point where we have a lot of black and white "rules" to follow. But dogma is a trap. It is fine having personal rules that help you accomplish something--but when they become the basis for something more, it can get scary and out of hand. "Good" food does not equal good morality, nor does "bad" food equal bad morality. Vegans are not the Antichrist and there is not one "right" version of the Paleo diet--you may not even want to call it "the Paleo diet." I guess I prefer "Paleo-ish" but that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue...Anyway, I guess my point is that we are all doing this the best way we can--just keep in mind what is "right" for you, may not work for someone else. I strive to follow the Paleo diet mostly as Cordain and Robb Wolf have laid it out. BUT, I have been greatly influenced in the food choices I make by Stephan Guyenet, Chris Kresser, and the Weston Price foundation (as well as by a limited budget). I learn from other bloggers, and other books, and will continue to learn, craft and hone the perfect plan for me (and for M) based on all of this...
That being said, I do enjoy the challenge of the Whole 30 and will keep at it for the whole 30 days. So far it is great!
